Sam Bain
I work from my studio in Dunbar and inspired by the world of fishing, shipping and navigation. I use fine detail specifications and measurements from ships, harbours and nautical charts using them as a platform upon which to build an image. Using grid-work I build up an image constructed from simplified, balanced geometric shapes and sparse composition.
I graduated from Gray’s School of Art, Aberdeen and have exhibited at the RSA, RGI and VAS and other exhibitions and galleries throughout Scotland.
